Absolutely Beautiful for the first months... not so much after
After looking for quite a while for new flatware, and returning a purchase made elsewhere, I stumbled on this pattern. It is absolutely beautiful. Well balanced, a touch on the heavy side, and I get a smile on my face each time I notice my guests glancing at it. The pieces are well made, look far more expensive than what I paid for them here, and will be well used, and loved in my home for a long time. Don't hesitate, this pattern is not the cheap stamped garbage being made these days.
Update: I originally rated this set 5 stars. Well I'm sorry to say after a year of use this set is starting to look old and worn. I use it daily, but the knives are rusting, the larger spoons are full of swirls, and the balance are starting to scratch. It really is too bad, this was a lovely set, but I can't believe after only a year I'm back to hunting for a new set of flatware. Hopefully the local Goodwill will get some use out of them.
So very disappointed...
Gorgeous but not forgiving. Food has to be cleaned off completely before going into the dishwasher. I have a Villeroy & Boch set I have had since the late 80s and they have held up incredibly well. I am going back to my old set.
