Perfect size and nicely designed
I looked all over, at Target, Sur la Table, and Amazon. I wanted a bread box that was a bit larger than standard, nice lines and well made. I purchased this one and love it. The size easily fits two to three loaves, the construction is good, and it keeps the bread fresh. The latch is secure, so little air gets in the box. I couldn't believe the difference it made: I had a loaf of bakery bread with no preservatives that normally will get mold in a week. This loaf went "mold less" for over two weeks. It was shipped securely and, with Amazon, I always trust I'll get it within days. I highly recommend this item.
bigger than a bread box
It is great. I am completely satisfied. I store things on top. I seems to keep bread much fresher longer. I have forgotten that I had bread in there for days and the bread was still fresh.
consider the matte finish, and say a prayer during shipping
The design of this product is great; I love how you can mount it on the wall and sit items on top of it. The shiny aluminum finish, however, reflects a lot of glare in a bright room, and makes every smudge/scratch/dent stand out like a sore thumb. Unfortunately, ours arrived already dented. (Double-boxed, but with no padding inside or between the boxes.) I still want one, but since I have to return this one anyway, I'm replacing it with the matte finish version that's available (through Amazon or not) from [...].
