Nigella Lawson Bliss Beech Chopping Board, Large

The Perfect Cutting Board
This cutting board is the perfect size for chopping vegetables. To prevent contamination and for easy clean up; I only use this board for vegetables, fruit, and bread. The tray comes out easily to be carried to a pot/pan on the stove. This cutting board minimizes vegetables from being dropped on the floor during transfer to the cooking area. The Beech wood surface is hard and durable. This cutting board with definately last for years to come.

Fabulous
I love this product, particularly with the removable draw to smoothly take your veggies "en masse" to the cook pot!!!

BlissHome Nigella Lawson's Living Kitchen Measuring Cups, Blue, Set of 4

Beautiful but one flaw
These are beautiful cups that are a pleasure to behold and are just fine for measuring wet ingredients. However, if one is measuring dry ingredients such as flour, you cannot level the flour off with a knife for precision. Instead of having each cup be the exact volume for each measurement, the cups have the measurements etched inside with the line well below the level of the top of the cup, making leveling off impossible. Admittedly, one should measure dry ingredients with a scale for greatest accuracy, but the cups are advertised as being good for a "multitude of baking ingredients" so I don't think that's true.

Ceramic cups, 5 stars...Melamine cups, 3 stars...There is a difference
There is a difference between the ceramic and melamine and it is crucial. I actually found my first ceramic set of these at a tag sale. I loved how you could measure wet and dry ingredients with the markings on the upper rim. I enjoyed the vintage look and the way they worked dipping into bags. I don't find the handles to be an issue as others stated. My fear was that the kids might drop them so I opted to purchase a second set in the melamine for them to use since I learned that replacing them if they broke would be quite expensive.

That is where I learned the difference. On the ceramic set the cups are set up to measure wet ingredients to the line markings on the upper rim and dry ingredients to the rim of the cup. This is missing on the melamine set where the measurement is simply stamped into the bottom of the cup. Now I understand why some stated they didnt work for them and others raved. I am going to take a sharpie and line mark them so they work just as my ceramic...

More pretty than practical
Sadly, as I am a fan of Nigella products, I am a little disappointed with these measuring cups. The handles are a bit small - not easy to grasp, and I feel another size between 1/2 and 1 cup would be very useful. Nonetheless, I still use them and take pleasure in using them because they are so beautiful.

BlissHome Nigella Lawson's Living Kitchen Measuring Cups, Cream, Set of 4

"Measurements are Approximate"
I had been looking for measuring cups like these for years and was so excited to find this set. Unfortunately, I was disappointed as soon as I opened the box. The product insert states "measurements are approximate". I tested the measurement and sadly they are not accurate. Inaccurate measuring cups are worthless. I returned these immediately.

Used Pyrex lately?
The measuring line below the top of the measuring cup is not unusual - in fact, Pyrex has been doing it for years. In my kitchen, we have two sets of measuring cups - one for dry and one for liquid. Only the dry measure is good for both applications. If you watch Barefoot Contessa, or many other of the Food Netwoork food shows, they use a scoop for dry measure. Nigella seems to have it down pat as to how to use her set for both applications - it takes lots of practice but does not diminish the value of her set.

Petite, not for exacting measurements, but completely adorable.
First, the not so hot; they are very petit little measuring cups when you finally see them sitting in front of you, which I suppose is not a fault (measurements being a standard thing... well, for the most part, "across the pond" differences notwithstanding). The color was alright but definitely showed any sign of discoloration moreso than would one of the darker colors.

Now, the hot; they are SO chic. These measuring cups are for the baker who bakes like Nigella - with added umph in every step of the way. The ceramic is remarkably sturdy (though I have not dropped these from more than a few inches off the countertop) and the measuring lines make liquid measurement no problem.

Not for everyone (especially those who go into arrest should a baker's cup be "mounded"), but definitely a cute addition to any modern kitchen - if you have the extra cash to add some "kitsch in the kitchen" as Nigella would say, I in turn say go for it.

BlissHome Nigella Lawson's Living Kitchen Utensil, Cream, Set of 6

Very Very Happy with this Set
These sturdy kitchen utensils are perfect. Much better than I expected. I love the shape of the ladles: besides being pretty, the oval shape helps scoop up more liquid. And the perforated spoons and skimmers are really handy, especially when it comes to things like poached eggs.

Like I said, they have a sturdy, slightly heavy (but not too heavy!) feeling in my hand, which is reassuring. I've only had them a few weeks so I don't know how they hold up over the long run but I suspect that won't be a problem. And I love the creamy color. Oh, and the Nigella logo, which consists of a crown with an 'N' in the middle is nice, too, but even nicer is that she places it discreetly on the back of the utensils.

flimsy
I found that the utensils are pretty to look at but didnt seem like they could be used as one of the spoons broke very easily and found that they are better used for show.

Gorgeous Set
Love the utensil set as per usual Nigella doesnt let you down with style, good & sturdy and nice colour

Sephra CF18M-SST Elite 6-lb Capacity Chocolate Fountain, Stainless Steel

the center of any party
This is the home version of the fountain used by the pros - it is the center of any party, is fairly easy to use, and (except for the base) is dishwasher safe. It does take some space to store, and does need some attention during the party. It also requires 5-6lbs of chocolate to ensure an even flow.

Disappointed
I received this for Christmas from my mother and it worked only once. The motor burned out and the company would not honor the warranty. Both the company and the fountain were a HUGE diappointment. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

worked flawlessly; so impressed!
We rented this machine from an events store for the weekend. It was a huge hit, and the machine performed flawlessly. We are so impressed we're planning on buying one (or two) for our next event.

Before bringing it home my wife received a few instructions on it's operation, and a few hints on getting it to flow well. Basically, if it's not level you're going to need to feed it more chocolate to get it to flowing perfectly. This machine comes with leveling screws under its base and it was a breeze to get it level... and our dining room table has a fairly moderate lean to it.

In case you can't see, the unit comes with several buttons. A primary power button, a flow On button, a flow Off button, and four different heat setting buttons: Off/Low/Med/High.

This unit is capable of melting chocolate. The first night we pre-melted the chocolate, but the second night we had an extra 60 minute prep time so we just placed the chocolate on the dish and turned...

BlissHome Nigella Lawson's Living Kitchen Tea Pot, Blue

Le Petit Bleu
This lovely pale blue teapot by Nigella Lawson is simply elegant! It is both modern and traditional at the same time. What attracted my the most was definitely the color--it is rare to find pale blue anything. Added extra...MADE IN PORTUGAL!!! You will love this beautiful piece for years to come. It is definitely worth the $!

its okay
pretty to look at but not so practical. I like to put herbs and zest in my tea when making and the spout allows both to seep out and make a mess when pouring. An addendum to the first review...I have been using for several months and noticed lots of cracks inside around handle and across the bottom of the pot. Not leaking yet, but thought I would share how the pot is performing after a little use.

so pretty
this is a beautiful tea pot, it is finished very nicely and a good size, perfect color and style, easy to use and well made

BlissHome Nigella Lawson's Living Kitchen Cake Plate with Glass Dome, Blue

Plate is great, dome is very fragile
It's so fragile I do not put it in the dishwasher - feels like it will shatter any day... But the plate is very nice and color is beautiful.

Nice enough, but the misleading photo
This is a nice cloche, but the angle of the photo makes the bell seem deeper than it actually is. The 5.5 height in the product description must include the handle. A two-layer cake might fit, but it will be very tight if it does. The glass walls of the dome are also thinner than I'd hoped, but it's glass, so you'd have to be careful anyway. Still, excellent price the day I bought it from Amazon, and I can use it for pastries and cookies and such. If the dome happens to break, I can still use it as a nice cake plate.

originally, I ordered this in cream from the third-party-seller [...]. They do not carry this item. They have the Nigella Lawson cake stand, which is a plate on a small pedestal with no dome. I was able to get the blue from Amazon for a fantastic price, so I am more at ease with the mistake than I otherwise might have been.

Love it...
I get more complements about this cake and cheese dome because of it's interesting and unique design.

It's also great quality...both the glass cover and serving plate are nice and solidly made.

I would certainly buy another one if this were to break.

Oenophilia Bordeaux Chateau, 23-Bottle

Good for tight spaces
This is a nice little wine rack that fits conveniently in small spaces. It is nice and sturdy with adjustable feet for leveling on uneven floors. It fits regular bottles of wine and some dessert/late harvest bottles. It will not accommodate magnums or many sparkling wine bottles. In order for bottles to lay properly, you will need to keep this several inches away from the wall or whatever you place behind it. The unit I received was slight damaged - the black plastic caps covering the feet were cracked. This was not enough to return the item (I used felt pads to replace them) however, I did try contacting the company, Oenophilia Inc. to see if they could send replacement leg parts but they were completely unresponsive.

Parisian Wine Rack
This unit is as advertised. Very well made and it does not flex or twist when loaded to capacity. It is a light weight, but solid wine rack. I already filled it with wine and I'm looking at purchasing another.

Well built and sturdy
I purchased one of these wine racks a year or two ago, and upon receipt, I was astonished as to the high level of quality for such a low price. I now have two of them. These heavy-duty, decorative racks certainly deserve praise.

German Slider Style Beer Keg Tap Coupler - A System

Want to tap German beer?
This replaces your kegerator attachment to do it. Very nice quality. Appears very durable. Good beer comes out of previously inaccessible kegs! If German beer is what you want, this is what you need

Great Sankey
My kegarator only came with an American style Sankey and unfortunately I do not drink American beer. This D slider was perfect. Great quality and does the job. I use a Nostalgia electrics kegarator and had to order a coupling for the air in line because of the height of the German full keg, but if you are using a full sized fridge this D slider will be perfect.

Functional coupler at a decent price
The finish on this is not like one would find on a Micromatic coupler but its half the price and works great.

Granite Ware 6139-1 34-Quart Stock Pot, Black

beware! not for glass/ceramic cooktop stoves!
looks like a great pot, but i'll never get to try it. says on the box that it cannot be used on a glasstop / ceramic stove. Amazon fails to mention that in the description, so here i am returning a huge pot!

great pot
Great, huge pot, and very lightweight. I use it for brining 20+ pound turkeys at Thanksgiving.

canning time

Sanke Wing Tap Coupler for Beer

Works Great! Shipped fast!
I needed this for my kegorator. I have a keg of Pilsner Urquell that does not use the US Keg coupler D system but uses the S System. I was happy that is was delivered quickly. One note: The top connector is a different size than the US Keg coupler so you will need to change the beer line nut also. The CO2 line fit just fine.

Tap the Rockies
This tap is good, solid and simple. Kegs are all different, so you need a small collection of them to get the job done. This is nice little unit.

Works great
The tap head showed up in a couple of days and was in good shape. I would buy from them again.

Single Tap Chrome Draft Beer Kegerator Tower - 2 1/2" Diameter

Good for a new installation, not so much for an existing setup
The build and part quality of this tower are what you would expect in this price range. All fittings are barbed so they are easy to assemble/disassemble for cleaning.

My biggest problem is with the base. I had worn out an existing tower that I had installed onto a countertop. (The kegerator was fitted below the counter.) My original tower had a flared base with mounting holes spaced every 1/4" or so around the base. My set had been mounted with screws at the 10/2/4/8 positions as compared with a clock face.

This replacement product only has holes drilled at 12/3/6/9. I was left with the option of drilling new holes in the base or installing the tap at an angle. Since there is no trim ring to cover the mounting base (again, unlike my original) it seemed as if the extra holes would be quite unsightly. I installed at the angle. It looks a bit odd, but it works.

Works great
Replaced my old keg tower with this one. So far it is working great. I filled the tower up with stay foam to keep it more insulated which also is a good idea.

Cheaper than from Source
This tower works well and already comes with lines hooked up. It is missing the beer washer, though, so you will have to get a beer washer (or use a hose washer, in an emergency)so the connection to the keg will not leak. It is a 2.5" diameter tower. It also comes with a flange and bolts, instead of the twist connection provided with the Edgestar BR2000BL Kegerator fridge, so you have to drill some holes.

Oenophilia Bali 12-Bottle Wine Rack, Crimson Red

wine rack
I was concerned about the red color when I ordered it. I was worried it would be too orange red. But it wasn't. The color in the picture is accurate. I love the style as it isn't something you see everyday. It looks great in my dining room.

Very Cool
This is a very neat way to store 12 bottles of wine. It keeps them a a good angle to keep the corks wet and is a conversation piece as well. It is substantially made from heavy wood and good sized bolts so should last "forever". All in all, a good purchase despite the somewhat high price.

Nice Contemorary Design-fits in small spaces
We needed more space to store bottles of wine given to us. We had a new elevated kitchen table with two shelves below it. Measured and decided we could fit two of these back to back on one or both shelves (24x23x12.5h). Ended up buying two for now and placing them back to back under the table. The red crimson look goes nicely with the dark color of our table and makes a nice visual presentation of the bottles underneath.

Cuisinart MCP22-30HNS MultiClad Pro Nonstick Stainless-Steel 12-Inch Skillet

Cuisinart Multiclad Pro 10" Nonstick SS Skillet
This is an excellent skillet that requires very low heat for cooking, and cleanup is a breeze. I have the regular cuisinart multiclad set, which is awesome, but I no longer use those skillets since purchasing this one. No more Barkeepers Friend and scouring required. It is off the stove, cool down and wash with dish soap and warm water. I have had no problem with bits of teflon flaking off.

I would highly recommend this skillet to anyone looking.

Most used piece
I own the MCP 12 piece stainless steel, but wanted a decent non-stick skillet so I picked this up. It works great and has been the most used piece I own...
I do wish it would have come with a lid (or one was offered separately) but I found an inexpensive 12" all-purpose chef's classic that had a great glass semi-domed lid that I purchased and use the lid from.

Nice skillet but beware. Nonstick works on both sides.
This is a very nice pan and I am impressed. I would like to give this a higher rating. However, a year after I purchased the pan the nonstick surface is peeling all around the edge of the pan. The problem with this is that the limited warranty requires you to pay for shipping to Cuisinart and another $7.00 for them to ship it back to you. This seems like a manufacture defect to me. I am put off that I have to pay to have them ship me a skillet to replace a defect. It's cheaper than buying a new one but how do I know I won't be spending another $14 worth of shipping costs a year from now. They need to fix their process with the nonstick bonding.

US Sankey Keg Coupler - D System - Lever Handle

it's a coupler
It works as it should.. however if the handle is not ALL THE WAY UP it has a slow leak....
I spoke to the local brew shop and they say that's not a big deal. Keg Lube should fix that right up....
as it is into the keg.. so its not really a leak.. :) I like it!

Awesome
Works like a charm!! Very easy to install beer lines, CO2 lines and to keg. Does what is expected to do.

Can't Stop the Leak
I wish I could give this coupler more stars because it seems decent - sturdy, rugged build on the exterior that looks nearly identical to my fully functional Perlick - but after trying to get it to work right for the past week, I've had no success. I'm really giving this two stars instead of one since it isn't completely nonfunctional. Heed the warnings about the CO2 leaks. I've used a RIDICULOUS amount of keg lube trying to seal this coupler on 2 different tanks and have had no success. When the lever handle dropped and locked, there is still some downward play, which means that it's not fully engaged. This prevents the gaskets from coming into contact with the tank, leading to (thankfully just) a CO2 leak. Additionally, the ball stop keeps getting stuck so it won't dispense beer. The coupler needs to be removed from the tank to "unstick" it, which only exacerbates the leaking issue since I have to try to reseal it every time. I have resigned myself to only tapping the keg...

Pur 8-Cup Oval-Shaped Pitcher with 1-Stage Filter

Best of the Breed
We have used Britta and 3 different Pur pitcher water filters because we have hard well water and over chorinated spring water before that. This is the best one yet. The lid fits better and has no hinges to break or get stuck and the shape is the easiest to handle full of water.

Almost like bottled water
Our water from the tap at work is horrible especially during the time of year they turn the lakes... almost unbearable to drink. I picked this up today and just started to use it and it's really very good!

The only tip I would give to people is that if you load up the top section with ice before running water through it, HOLD the top before you pour this into a cup. It's a great thing to keep on your desk while at work.

Good product
I'm very happy with the quality of water filtration this pitcher provides. It holds a decent amount of water, and fits easily underneath a faucet to be refilled. It's slim, so it doesn't take up too much room on your fridge shelf.

Oenophilia Wine Bar Rack

Reasonable, after some effort to address its flaws...
I ordered two of these wine racks to hang above a bar cabinet I had recently purchased. They shipped quickly, and they arrived well-packed and undamaged.

However, when I proceeded to mount the racks to the wall, two rather significant issues became immediately apparent. First, even though I took tremendous care to drill the mounting holes level, inconsistencies in the manufacturing of the two racks resulted in the front of one of the racks appearing about a half inch higher than the other... they're mounted right next to each other (basically forming one long shelf/rack), so this inconsistency resulted in a very tacky appearance. I compensated somewhat by filing out one of the mounting holes to lower the shelf, but it's still not as close as I'd like.

The second issue I encountered was that the drywall anchors included with the units were grossly insufficient... while they seemed to do a reasonable job of supporting the weight of the rack, they started to pull...

Good for the price
The rack is nice, though not wrought iron like the description says. Also the top is covered with a black contact paper and it does not look like wood. It is a nice object even though it is kind of cheap looking. I haven't put it up yet, so hopefully it will stay on the wall with bottles of wine.

Nice Wine Rack. AWFUL Customer Service.
I added this item to a registry listing and ended up with two of them. As others have mentioned the racks are inconsistent in shape, size, and even color. I chose the one I liked best and contacted The Storage Store to return the other. They claimed to have easy returns. They lie. I called and emailed them numerous times with no response. Finally about a month later I was able to get a hold of someone. At this point over 30 days had passed since the item was received. They tried to tell me I couldn't return it because it was past their 30 day return policy. After a bit of arguing that I had tried to contact them within the 30 days,I was able to get a return authorization number. I returned the item in late January and now it's mid March and I still have not received the credit back. While I like my wine rack I will never buy anything from The Storage Store again. Even though the item is listed as being sold and shipped by Amazon you have to deal with The Storage Store for any issues.

Nespresso D90 Essenza Single-Serve Manual Espresso Machine

OK but has some significant issues
I have been using this machine for about a month now. The espressos are strong, aromatic and comparable to those produced by more expensive machines. The machine is also very easy to clean (barely requiring a rinse every now and then). As far as quality goes I'm very happy with it. A few caveats however:

Temperature: as other reviewers mentioned, they are barely warm. If you're used to sipping yours for more than a couple of minutes you'll be drinking cold coffee. In fact the low temperature my Nespresso produces is enough of an issue for me to regret my purchase. And warming the cup does about as much as you'd expect.

Variety: I think there are enough capsules in the Nespresso line to find an espresso that suits your taste but the lungos are not to be confused with full-cups. You will not be able to get even half of an average American coffee cup out of a lungo capsule without it starting to taste watered down. Therefore Nespresso isn't as versatile as it could...

My quest for perfect espresso is finally over!
This review is based on my experience with the Nespresso Essenza C90, but the Nespresso Essenza D90 is quite similar, and I believe that the espresso making mechanism is exactly the same.

We all have our little passions. Over the years, I have devoted too much time, money, and study to perfecting the art of making the perfect coffee and espresso. I searched the world (and the internet) for the best beans, grinders, equipment, and even tried roasting my own beans and became able to produce better potions that one can ever find in the coffee boutiques. Still, as it turns out, my efforts were in vain. The Nespresso Essenza (and probably the other Nespresso machines similar in design) produces the perfect cup and the ease of doing so, sadly, puts my efforts to shame.

The secret seems to be in the strong pumping mechanism (19 bars of pressure, same as their more expensive machines) and their superb coffee capsules. After being such a stickler for the freshest roasted...

build quality not as good...
I have bought several exact same model in France when I was living there earlier this year, and the build quality (i.e. fit and finish) are much better. The ones in Europe are made in Switzerland, and the one I recently bought on Amazon is made in China. Not sure why, but the fit and finish just didn't measure up. Otherwise the machine works great. I also would recommend getting the manual vs the automatic version. The manual model lets you control how much water you let pass thru the capsule.

Oenophilia Bali 12-Bottle Wine Rack, Ebony black/brown

Love the look, but the quality is a bit iffy
These wine racks are very cool looking. However, they are held together with screws that go through the spacer tubes, and many of the screws were loose. I ordered three of these racks, and all of them needed to have a bunch of screws tightened. Only one of the racks could be thoroughly tightened; the other two had screws that just spun in their tubes, either because they were stripped or because the holes in the wood were not deep enough for the screws to catch the threads in the tube. Also, the finish on the racks was pretty uneven and had lines rubbed in it from the corrugated cardboard of the box. Only one rack had lines that wouldn't rub out, so I turned that side to the wall.

Anyway, I kept the racks, because they were sturdy enough, even without a few screws holding. But be aware, some of the screws stuck out on the bottom (holes in the wood were uneven depth, so some screws are recessed, and some not so much). So if you put the rack on a delicate surface, it...

Poor quality for the price
I like the form factor and functionally. It holds 12 bottles just fine. If I had gotten this at a garage sale for $10, I would have been happy, but I paid enough for this that I was expecting a piece of decent workmanship. Instead, it arrived with some of the screws fallen out and rattling around in the box. The rest of the screws were lose. The stain is uneven. It looks ok tucked away in a dark corner, but if you put it in good light it looks like a 6 year old painted it. It doesn't sit evenly no matter which end I put down. If there aren't enough bottles on it to give a decent weight then it wobbles back and forth at a touch.

wine rack
I was disappointed in the quality as compared to price. It was not packaged well and had scuff marks on both sides and screws on the bottom were rusted. I wanted to return but needed it for a surprise engagement wine party. I would not recommend this item to anyone.

Espresso Coffee Maker Size: 3 cup

never thought i could make great coffee until...
my wife purchased this one for our family. initially, i looked at the darn thing and noted, "really, can this really make espresso, coffee, or what have you. I have drunk coffees from the far east(shanghai) to as far (west) roma, and never in my wildest dreams would i have imagined myself ever creating some of the best espresso ever." however, i did one rare morning, reading the instructions not once, twice, but a few times as i was boggled that alessi just needed low heat to brew the stuff of the gods.

first initial cup, "oh my, oh my" this is way to heavenly to be espresso. perfect temperature. perfect brew. and strong at that. okay, i was hooked like an ahi. you won't regret it purchasing this item. lastly, i think alessi would make a perfect gift, a gift that i would only consider giving to my wife. but alas, my wife beat me to the punch and i am totally indebted to her for a life time or two.

Beautiful design
Purchased this in Italy. It's a more elegant design as it ingeniously snaps closed rather than screws together like other stovetop espresso makers on the market. It's made from steel rather than aluminum, which I am told improves the durability over time.

The complaint about the amount of coffee made is silly and shows the buyer did not understand what a real espresso serving size is. This maker does not make American style coffee, and the portions are measured in espresso cups, not eight ounce or larger cups.

I love it!
I bought this in Italy and I have been loving it ever since! It is easy to use, easy to clean, and makes great espresso

Alessi 17-Ounce Cocktail Shaker, Satin Finish

Great Quality
Nice quality product that seals very well; no leaks at all. Fit and finish were worth the extra money. Plus, it's not made in China!!

Amazing cocktail shaker at a high price
This cocktail shaker is gorgeous and really works well. I have tried many shakers and usually they have an issue with the fit of the lid and things leaking out. This shaker is beautifully constructed and looks great my bar on display. It feels really nice in your hand and making cocktails is even more fun with it. That being said, you really don't need a $100 cocktail shaker and it doesn't do anything particularly special for being so expensive.

CAN'T WIN THEM ALL . . .
I looked for a "Deco" style shaker for some time. I was discouraged by the high number of reviews complaining about poor fitting lids and leakage. I encountered this unit, with its perfect score, and purchased it despite its pricey nature. What I got was a straining collar and cap that were so loose that they would fall away from the container when turned upside down. I conducted a shake test, holding all the parts tightly together, and it still leaked. I expected better for 133 bucks. I guess I got the one the inspectors missed. I gave it a two star raing ONLY because it's an attractive unit that promotes good "bar appeal." I returned the unit and will say, like many others have, that Amazon is just the best for returning merchandise.

The Menu Vignon Decanting pourer & aerator does everything it is advertised to do but the wine still needs some time in the glass to mellow. The pourer makes an attractive addition to the wine bottle and does make it easier to pour the wine without drips and dribbles.

Wine Aerator/Pourer
This product is great. I have given as gifts to friends and family. It's also easy to take with you anywhere to make that bottle of inexpensive wine taste great. I would recommend this product.

Wine Decantoring pourer & Aerator via Amazon.com
We purchased a Menu Vignon Decanting pourer & aerator that you attach to your bottle at the spout and it works great and the price is very reasonable.

Zwilling J.A. Henckels Twin Select Kitchen Shears

Solidly Built; Made in Italy, not Germany
These shears are solidly built, but a little on the small side. Best for small to medium-sized hands. The actual blade only measures 2 1/2 inches, which is not very long if you want to cut deeply into a piece of poultry. Also, they are made in Italy, not Germany.

Nice shears
I like these shears. They are very sharp and work well. The only complaint I have it in the product review it states that the shears come apart for easy cleaning, and this is not true. If you go to the Henckels web site it doesn't make this claim. I was looking for shears that came apart, so was somewhat Disappointed.

German quality, all metal - I love them!
I've had an endless series of cheap kitchen scissors through the years. When my last pair started tearing instead of cutting, and the tips didn't meet properly, I decided to invest in a really nice pair. I did a lot of research on Amazon and the Internet, trying to avoid paying for a designer name with poor quality.

I decided to buy Zwilling J.A. Henckels Twin Select Kitchen Shears because they are solid, high-carbon stainless-steel and come apart for cleaning. I didn't want another pair with plastic handles, or any with a cheap screw holding them together. Another deciding point was the lifetime guarantee against defects, and the fact that German-made products I own (cookware and kitchen knives) have held up remarkably well.

These scissors are truly beautiful to see, they're nicely balanced and the handles are very comfortable despite being solid metal. They are razor sharp and cut through chicken breasts as if they were paper. It looks like they require a...

BUNN VPR Commercial 12-Cup Pour-Over Coffee Brewer, with 2 Warmers

This Bunn may last my lifetime
About 15 years ago, I purchased a Bunn home duty coffee maker and found it to be excellent. After about 5 years of nearly daily use, it started to get a little finicky so I took it apart in an attempt to clean the hot water chamber. Turned out the sealing parts are not really made to be taken apart after 5 years of use and then go back together.

In a quest for a new Bunn, I found that the VPR cost about double what the home version cost so.... 10 years later, the Bunn VPR is still going strong and has helped out at family events serving large groups of people (just what the machine is designed for!). Despite having water poured into the bottom heat plate (don't try to pour water in without a carafe in place), it still works perfectly!

A hint to those who make coffee only on the weekends: the design of the Bunn is that it is a small hot water tank and keeps a couple gallons of water hot and ready to go at all times. This will use some electricity and I've...

When you want the best, buy the commercial Bunn
I have worked in the foodservice industry for years, and the Bunn has always been the standard by which commercial coffeemakers are judged. Years ago, I decided to buy the consumer version for my home, and although it served me well, it eventually wore out and I wanted something better and sprang for the VPR. One nice feature of the Bunn is that you can unscrew the sprayhead, leave the filter basket off and you can instantly have a couple of pots of very hot water available for recipes. I typically buy the gallon size Lipton tea bags, put one in a decanter, run a decanter of water through and let it steep for about 10-15 minutes and add enough water to make a gallon, people love my Iced tea.
If you do unscrew the sprayhead, set it in the screened inlet where you pour the water into the maker, so that you don't inadvertently start a pot of coffee without the sprayhead in place. I did get a steal of a deal on mine new on ebay for $100.00...

misleading write up for VPR Bunn coffee maker
I am very unhappy about the write up on this item. I did not see the notation on the bottom of the page "Please note that the decanters for this unit (Bunn 6100 and 6101 Easy Pour) are sold separately." until the order had been processed. Both Costco and Sams had the same unit with 2 decanters included for less money. In all, this added $75.00 over the units from the other retailers. You should put that info on the top of the page in the description so a consumer can compare "apples to apples" not apples to lemons".
Joe Pescatrice pescj@comcast.net BUNN VPR Commercial 12-Cup Pour-Over Coffee Brewer, with 2 Warmers

PS. after discussing the issue on the phone with Jacques (JD) in Customer service, an adjustment was made. He noted there were 2 pictures there one with and one without decanters and the larger picture used in the display had 2 decanters. On closer inspection, I discovered they...

CIRCULON 80359 5.5 Qt. Covered Casserole

Nice stew pot!
Have only used it a few times so far, but Circulon continues to make a quality product. This purchase was to replace one of my favorite stew/soup pots, really like the see through lid!

Circulon Casserole
I have had this for a couple of years and I am very happy with this cookware. I use it for stir fry, soup, and pasta. I liked so much and I bought one for my son as well.

GREAT COVERED CASSEROLE
I bought one of these and liked it so much, that I am ordering one for my daughter. It is not too heavy to lift, but heavy enough to use on a flat-top cooktop without skidding all over. It heats up quickly and is a very nice size so that many dishes can be cooked in it - soups, sauces, spaghetti, etc. I have not yet tried using it in the oven - just the cooktop. When I bought it, I had to pay much more - so I was glad to see it at a very reasonable sale price.

Alessi 17-3/4-Ounce Cocktail Shaker, Mirror Polish Finish

IF I HAD ALL THE MONEY I'D SPENT ON DRINK, I'D SPEND IT ON DRINK
I've tried many different shakers: they either drool while in action ( in the interest of fairness on this point of "drooling" you should know that I insist that my Martinis be "bruised") or lock so tight following the gentlest vibrations that a visit to the workshop is requir'd to prise the shaker open with such violence that too often my wee dram of Hendrick's winds up all over the counter, irretrievable amid the diluting effects of the sprawling ice flows. Not so with this Alessi. Polished or satin finish, this finely wrought and highly civilized instrument adds to the enchantment and plaisir of the Cocktail Hour, replacing unwanted wetness and mumbled frustration with a cool, generous and satisfying oblivion. Shall we again to the bar?

Best Cocktail Shaker
This shaker feels good to hold, and is so well engineered that it never leaks no matter how long I shake it, then opens with with an easy twist. Perfect precision. Worth the high price tag.

Nice, substantial cocktail shaker
A bit pricey, but very substantial. Timeless design and well made. Easy to open, unlike a lot of cocktail shakers.

Rubbermaid Twin Sink Dish Drainer

Works as expected
This fit into my sink perfectly, and it works well. I have stuck it in the dishwasher a few times to clean it off, and it held up fine. This is a good way to dry dishes without taking up counter space.

Great product!
Nothing fancy, but this twin drainer fits perfectly in my sink. It holds a fair amount of dishes and is well constructed. Very pleased.

My favorite - hard to find anymore
Fits perfectly in my Kohler dual basin sink with room to spare. Have used this same style Rubbermaid dish drainer for years and change out every couple of years just to get a new white look as they tend to yellow with age. Like this style much better than the coated wire ones because of the built in silverware holder. But it is hard to find locally anymore, so happy I found on Amazon, worth having to pay the shipping to get it.

Toastess TSC-310 Elegance 6-1/2-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker

Love it!
My work schedule changed and I wanted to get a programmable crock to make dinner less of an ordeal as I couldn't rely on my non-programmable crock to not leave my meal totally dried up by the time I got home. I had read really bad reviews of the Rival Smart Pot so I went with this one.

I love it. I've made a few of my "old standby" meals (like a roast with a packet of onion soup mix and a can of diet coke) and they have turned out SO much better than with my old non-programmable crock.

It's easy to use, it doesn't burn, have hot spots or leave the dish dried out. I highly recommend it!

Good slow cooker
Very happy with this slow cooker. I had a programmable slow cooker that burned everything. This one does not! Also a good price.

Great slow cooker
We have used it four months now and there have been no negative issues. The programmable feature in the product description can be confusing to some. Cooking can not be delayed due to the risk of food spoilage. Where it is useful is it switches to warm after the initial cooking time. That way your food isn't over done and is ready to eat when you get home. Stylish looking too. For 2 people it is rather large but that's ok. We get great leftovers.

It's a Dog's Life Wine Glass Charms from That Wine Is Mine - 1471P

Cute, tough, cumbersome
Very cute up close. Tough, heavy metal. You have to hook them around your glass, as opposed to those ones that kind of spring into place. So people w/ poor vision or dexterity might have trouble.

Wine dog charms are cute
Just what i was looking for. Quality seems good, they have some weight to them, and they're cute.

Blomus 65193 29-Inch Wall-Mounted Wine Bottle Holder

very nice
This is a very nice, modern, wine rack. Well made and easy to mount on the wall. I took the advise of another review I came across and put up beefier drywall anchors. Definitely recommend this product. I came across another picture where 2 or 3 were put up along a large wall in a dining room - looked awesome. Oh, and I have also received lots of compliments.

Great item, gets good compliments.
This thing is really a great idea, and as others have said, is practically an art piece.
Well made with a clever mounting design. I mounted to a stud and would not recommend doing otherwise.

You do have to create the mounting holes exactly, so this is not something you can just slap up on the wall!

Functional Art Piece
This wine rack is a well made, Modern and functional. IT is basically a piece of art. I purchased two and placed them linearly down the wall for a huge statement pice. The rack holds the bottles securely and will hold various sizes of bottles. I have had the rack installed for only a few short weeks and anyone who comes over always has a positive comment. Be sure to locate a stud in the wall to secure the rack since it will be holding a good amount of weight. The mounting system is basically 3 screws into the wall and doesnt give much flexibility if you have to be on a stud. Overall it was easy to install in about 10 minutes once the location was selected. I would purchase again. Thumbs up if you are looking for a artpiece with some function.

National Presto 07045 Presto Cool Touch Tilt'nDrain Griddle

Tilt n Drain is wonderful
we bought this griddle to replace another one we have just used up. The old one kept burning our food, so it was time to replace it. So far, this one is working greatly, cooking everything evenly and quickly. We are very careful not to use metal utensils on it to ensure not scratching the surface. Hopefully we will get a lot of use out of this one, and the Tilt n Drain feature is cool, except the hole that the oil drains into could be a bit larger.

Has Hot Spots
I had such high hopes for this griddle. It has a large surface and is easy to clean. However, now that I have had it for a year or so, it has developed hot and cold spots. One side works perfectly, the other doesn't, so I have to be constantly moving the food around to get it to cook evenly. This problem developed within the first six months. I am here on Amazon searching for a new one...

Broil King PCR-2S Professional Double Cast Iron Range, Stainless

Quality Dual Element Hot Plate
We've been using the single element version of this (Cadco PCR-1S Professional Cast Iron Range, Stainless) for a year and liked the quality but wanted lower wattage options for simmering as well as the ability to run two elements at once on our limited off-grid power system. This dual element version fit the bill and as an added bonus leaves a useable amount of counter space in front of it (it's not as deep as the single element version--see added product pictures comparing both units side-by-side).

While the single element unit (1600W) linked above is ideal for large pots (over 12" diameter) which do not fit so well on the smaller dual element unit, this dual element unit provides a more even simmer with lower wattage elements (1000 + 650 = 1650W) (total wattage is per nameplate on items--guessing a bit on dual element individual element wattage as product description does not add up to match...

Very pleased!
I followed the ten minute burn in that instructions called for. It smoked and smelled and now that its over (let the unit cool completely), I haven't experienced any odor problems that a few seem to have complained about. Maybe they didn't read the directions? After the burn in came the test: 8 quarts of water on the big burner and a sauce pan on the little one. It boiled both in about ten minutes. That's fine by me! The knobs feel solid and good under my finger tips while providing a nice adjustment range. The unit works just fine as there's plenty of heat and I'm very happy with it. One note: after I was all beaming over the unit, I noticed a hole in the back of the unit where it looks like a screw might have gone missing. It hasn't. I ordered a replacement unit (Amazon sent it free and within two days) and it was the same. I contacted the manufacturer and this is normal. From their email: "There is actually not a screw missing on the left side of the range there. The...

Short Life, Other Issues
The range worked well for about six months and then the left burner quit working altogether. By that time the cast iron burners were starting to show signs of rust in places. While it cooked reasonably well, it was very slow to heat up, and equally slow to cool down. The controls are quite good for simmering and warming, but it is not really made for cooking. I would NOT buy another, and in fact have replaced it with a two burner induction cooktop that is far superior for cooking.

Nambé Sabbath 8-inch Candlesticks, Pair

Beautiful shabbat candlesticks
I gave these candlesticks to my daughter-in-law as a wedding gift. I love the contemporary lines, the balance, and the beautiful finish. She was thrilled with them! Perfect wedding or engagement gift!

Exquisitely Beautiful
One word to describe these....... Exquisite !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not only using them for Shabbas but for dinner parties.
All I get is compliments on them....

Lolita Love My Martini Glass Musictini New

Design wipes off - even with great care
I now have seven Lolita martini glasses and although they are the perfect gift for martini lovers, I am loathe to purchase more. The artwork started washing off the first time this was washed. We are extremely careful about taking great care to use minimal soap, fingers only (no sponges or dish cloths), warm water. Of the seven we own, this has happened with three of them. Consistency in quality would be nice as well as a replacement policy if the three that are washing off are a quality control problem.

Love it!
I have several of the Lolita glasses myself. My husband plays piano and I thought this would be the perfect martini glass for him. He LOVED it and the drink recipe on the bottom was so great!!!

Cuisinart RK-17 Traditional Cordless 1-3/4-Quart 1500-Watt Electric Kettle

Disappointed with this kettle...
I loved the look of the kettle and have a number of Cuisinart products that I have been very happy with. The kettle arrived quickly and was well packed. I was pleased with the look of it, but when I went to fill it up, I really, REALLY had to work to get the lid twisted off of it, and you need to press down on the handle and tilt it, which also felt almost forced... as if over time this would break the mechanism. Serious form over function here. Then I plugged it in, and although the cord wrapping under the base is nice, the mechanism to turn the unit on had to be pressed several times before it would turn on. Then I wasn't sure it actually WAS on. My Russell Hobbs that I've had for 5 years immediately begins that rustling noise of water heating, and with this, nothing. So I waited. And waited. And waited. And finally, the water boiled. But I'd say it took 5x longer than my old RH unit did.

Overall, it does have a very nice retro look to it, and if you only use it once in a...

Disappointed
We were impressed with how it looked. We wanted something a little fancier for the office but we had a hard time, almost impossible, keeping the "On lever" pushed down in order for the water to even boil. No matter which way we positioned the pot on the base it would click back up. I read the instructions again and again to make sure I was doing it correctly and nothing. We finally got fed up and decided to return it.

cuisinart RK-17 Cordless Kettle
I was very pleased with the overall design of the kettle because I live in an Old Victorian. It is more in keeping with the decor. This kettle will meet probably meet our needs. I do like the fact that it has a three year warranty. Our last Kettle by Mellita lasted aprox. a year before burning out. We were unable to get it repaired.

I did note that the kettle due to it's stainless steel structure becomes very warm when boiling. The lid was a bit difficult to remove due to the warmth and one needs to pry it open for a refill. I would say that this kettle with shipping was more than I wanted to pay....so I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will be in service for a very long time.

Broil King USG-10G Ultra Large Griddle

Big Disappointment
I had read numerous reviews about this griddle and everyone raved about the quality and eveness of heat distribution and cooking. I waited three months for it and have never been so disappointed in a product. The handles felt thin and sharp on the edges. The feet were likewise sharp on the edges and did not sit totally level on the counter. I followed the instructions, washed it, seasoned it with some canola oil and then proceeded to cook breakfast for our guests. It held 8 pancakes at a time. The two near the control never got brown, the four in the center were almost black and the two at the far end came out beautiful. I tried it repeatedly that morning with the same disapppointing results each time. Maybe I got a lemon, but it certainly did not live up to it's glowing reports and did not do half as well as the cheaper model from a competitor that I have been using.

Very Dissapointed - especially with Broil King Customer Service
Our children purchased this product for us, on our recommendation, on the strength of some nice reviews on Epinions and a few other websites. Our overall experience with this product was unfortunately not positive. After just over 1 year of usage the product is no longer usable, and an email sent to the published customer service address at BroilKing went unanswered.

Pros: Large. American Made. Even heating. Can tip slightly for grease run off.

Cons: Expensive, especially for an appliance which lasted only 1 year in infrequent service. Poor application of non-stick coating, the coating was peeling off in several areas the day we got it. These areas were on the side, not on the area where one would cook, so we didn't return it. Hard to clean, due to there being areas where food would collect that were hard to get at, specifically between the handles and the cooking surface. No channel to direct grease to run-off pan, so the griddle would tend to overflow...

Very Pleased With Purchase / Small Quality Control Issues?
Like the one reviewer of this product. The first griddle I received had very uneven legs and would not sit level. I tried to tighten the screws that secured the legs to griddle to correct the problem, but to no avail. I returned the first one, and received a replacement soon after. The second griddle I received sat level, and was as steady as a rock. It heats quickly and evenly. I am very pleased with this purchase. I don't know why they recommend seasoning the griddle with cooking oil? I did this with the first unit I received, and the oil just got sticky/tacky and was hard to clean off. With the second unit, I decided not to season it. So far I've only cooked pancakes on it, but just with warm soapy water I'm easily able to clean off the nonstick surface to like new condition. I really like the grey cooking surface, something different then the usual black. Aside from the small quality control issue with the first griddle. The griddle seems to be relatively well built...

Broil King PCG-10 Professional Portable Nonstick Griddle

A big griddle for big breakfasts!
I love mine. It's big, so be aware if you have little counter space. I've got five in my family, and this grill is big enough for bacon on one side, pancakes on the other. It's easy to clean. I've had mine over a year, and have had no problems with the finish. Yes, it does have a hot spot on the left side, but I use it to my advantage. I've had some restaurant experience, and our flat tops were almost always at different temps. Something cooking too fast? Move it over! Put those sausages on the right, as it's a little cooler, and they take longer to cook.

I have had one problem: my probe thermostat went. I called the company, they took the date code off the unit (it was a gift from my Amazon wish list!), and sent a new probe out. The warranty was 30 months! Nice.

I say, if you're a heavy duty griddle user like I am, this is the TANK of the griddle world!

Impressive commercial griddle
Wow. What a great cooking tool. This griddle is tough, heavy, big, and it works great. The flip down leg things work great to help drippings to drain. no wobble with the leg extensions up or down. It's thick so it takes a few minutes to warm up. I turn it on while prepping prior to cooking, so by the time I'm ready to cook it's up to temp. If you turn it on and expect it to be hot in 30 seconds, it won't be. If you're looking for a nice, polished, formal, "display piece" to impress the in-laws or the neighbors, this is not the appliance to purchase. The cast aluminum base has some burr's on the underside from the casting process. To grind them off and smooth it out would add cost, and the burrs don't decrease it's functionality (they're on the bottom!). The "Flimsy" splatter guard works great. it doesn't have to be sturdy, it only has to stop the splatter drops (which it does) thereby keeping my counter clean. the large cooking surface has a FEW minor marks, but nothing...

Outstanding Performance
I purchased this griddle a few weeks ago so that I could finally sit down with my family to for Sunday pancake breakfast, and it delivered - I can easily cook eight pancakes at once with flipping room to spare. But the size is only part of the story. The non-stick performance had me a little worried out of the box, as there were some "lines" on the surface that might have been manufacturing issues, but they seemed to just be cosmetic - after some cooking they've faded, and the non-stick performance (new) is simply outstanding - easily matches my good All Clad cookware for pure non-stick goodness and simple cleanup.

Another thing I really appreciate is how even the cooking temperature is. There are simply no hot spots on this thing, and if I really, really want to be picky, the temperature might fall off a bit at the very edge, but cooking eight pancakes gives me a great visual indicator from edge-to-edge, front-to-back, and there were simply no pancakes that had appreciably...

Blomus Wine Bottle Storage, Holds 12 Bottles

well made, functional, looks good
I bought 2 of these, to go side by side on the kitchen counter. When they arrived and I set them up, I was tempted to get an additional one. Really simple, elegant and streamlined. And well made. And, the best part is that the 12 bottle count does not include the space on the bottom of the rack - which can accomodate 2 additional bottles (granted they are not held securely in place as they are in the rest of the rack). Works for different bottle shapes (cab vs pinot noir / chard). If you want something that allows your wine to be shown, this is a great rack.

wine rack
I highly recommend this storage rack. It is much sturdier than it looks in the picture. We actually fit 14 bottles into the rack as I guess they don't expect you to use the bottom two spaces. Arrived on time and is better than advertised. Fits perfectly on the floor under the bar!

Very nice rack...
Stores my wine where it is accessible and looks great. Construction is solid. The rack itself has a decent heft. Would definitely buy another one, but wine doesn't stick around my kitchen.... :)

Factory-Reconditioned KitchenAid RKG25H0XBK Professional HD Series 5-Quart Stand Mixer, Imperial Black

Wonderful, especially for double batches
I bake double to tripple batches of bread and cookie doughs frequently, and this machine is perfect. It will also whip a pint of heavy cream in under a minute. I replaced a standard Kitchen aid mixer with this one, to increase power and capacity, and it was well worth it. One note, the website did not state whether or not the mixer comes with the three standard attachments, the wire whip, the flat beater and the dough hook. It does! They are all brushed stainless steel and hold up wonderfully in the dishwasher. Also, if you have trouble the first time assembling it, make sure that you attach the bowl to both pegs on each side AND the peg behind the bowl. The instructions are somewhat vague, so don't forget!
